What is ICICI Trade Online and how do I activate the Trade tab in Corporate Internet Banking?

Trade Online is ICICI Bank's digital trade services channel for exporters and importers. The key structural fact that most search results miss: it is not a standalone site . Trade Online lives inside Corporate Internet Banking (CIB, login at cibnext.icici.bank.in). You log in with your Corporate ID and User ID, open the Trade tab , and activate Trade Online from there. Older pages branded it "Online Trade" or "Online Trade MIS". Same channel, older name.

Around Trade Online sits a family of companion channels, each with a specific job. Knowing which is which saves you from hunting for a feature in the wrong place.

How do I register for Trade Online (registration form and board resolution)?

Activation is a digital workflow with offline supporting documents. Per ICICI's business-banking Trade Online page, you need the Trade Online registration form (available in the bank's Customer Request Letters repository) plus a constitution document authorising the users.

Activation path

 1. 1 Hold a current account with CIB access Trade Online rides on Corporate Internet Banking. If your company has no CIB Corporate ID yet, that onboarding comes first.
 2. 2 Fill the Trade Online registration form Download "Registration form for Trade Online" from ICICI's Customer Request Letters page (icici.bank.in → Business Banking → Trade Solutions → Getting Started → Customer Request Letters). It names the entity, accounts, and the users to be enabled.
 3. 3 Attach the Board Resolution or Partnership Mandate Companies submit a Board Resolution authorising Trade Online usage and its users; partnership firms submit a Partnership Mandate. This is the offline half of the digital activation workflow.
 4. 4 Submit via your relationship manager and activate the Trade tab Once processed, the Trade tab inside CIB unlocks the Trade Online modules for the registered users.

How do I settle an inward remittance and submit a disposal instruction online?

This is the strongest documented part of ICICI's stack. ICICI's Inward Trade Remittances page states that you can "settle remittances digitally via Corporate Net Banking (CIB) or the Mobile application (INSTABIZ)", with credit "within 1 hour of receiving the disposal instruction" for eligible transactions. The Trade Online page adds auto-intimation of inward remittances and Insta EEFC conversion and settlement for amounts up to USD 5 lakh.

The disposal instruction is where you declare the RBI purpose code and the FEMA declaration for the credit. ICICI publishes the disposal-instruction format (with FEMA declaration) in its Customer Request Letters repository, and a list of RBI purpose codes as a PDF on its own domain.

A goods exporter's US buyer wires USD 12,000. ICICI receives the SWIFT credit and auto-intimates the exporter, as described on the Trade Online page ("Inward Settlement. Auto-intimation") and demonstrated in ICICI's official video "Keep track of your Inward Remittances (Trade Online)". </> } result= >

 1. Log in to CIB (cibnext.icici.bank.in) → Trade tab → inward remittances awaiting disposal.
 2. Open the pending credit of USD 12,000 and submit the disposal instruction: settlement account (current or EEFC), the applicable RBI purpose code for goods exports, and the FEMA declaration. The same fields as ICICI's disposal-instruction letter format.
 3. If the exporter holds an EEFC account and wants conversion control, Trade Online's Insta EEFC conversion and settlement covers amounts up to USD 5 lakh.
 4. Where CIB is unavailable, the same settlement can be done in the InstaBIZ app, per the Inward Trade Remittances page.

How do I get a FIRC, BIRC or FIRA from ICICI Bank. And which one do exporters actually receive?

ICICI Bank uses these terms more precisely than most exporters searching for them. Its FIRC FAQ page draws the line as follows: FIRC is issued only for FDI/FII inflows , and only "upon specific request". For export proceeds , the bank provides a BIRC (Bank Inward Remittance Certificate). So if you searched "ICICI FIRA download" as an exporter, the document you actually want from ICICI is the BIRC.

DocumentICICI's usageHow you get it
FIRCFDI / FII inflows only, issued upon specific requestRequest from the bank; duplicate FIRC issuance is Rs 500 per the charge schedule
BIRCThe certificate ICICI provides for export proceedsRequest from ICICI Bank (branch trade desk / RM). No documented self-serve download
FIRA / remittance adviceGeneric industry term; ICICI's nearest documented artefacts are advices and SWIFT copies in Trade OneViewAdvices and SWIFT copies download from Trade OneView. Note these are not the certificate itself
eBRCNot a bank document any more. DGFT self-certified from bank-pushed IRMsGenerate on the DGFT portal; see our eBRC filing guide

For eBRC, route the work to DGFT, not the bank: under the revised DGFT system, banks push IRMs to DGFT and exporters self-certify the eBRC on the DGFT portal. ICICI's job is accurate and timely IRM reporting; if an IRM is missing or wrong on DGFT, that discrepancy goes back to the bank. How certificates differ across providers is covered in our FIRA-by-provider comparison and FIRC vs BRC guide .

How do I regularise shipping bills with eDocs, including CSB-V courier exports?

Shipping bill regularisation (matching realised payments to open shipping bills so the EDPMS entry closes) is documented as a digital flow at ICICI. The bank's official demo video "Regularize your shipping bills using ICICI Bank Corporate Internet Banking" walks through the eDocs module inside CIB. EDOCS is also the bank's named module for "paper-based & paperless Bulk C2C bill lodgement", which matters for e-commerce exporters with hundreds of small bills.

The supporting paper formats live in the Customer Request Letters repository: the Exports Smart CRL, the export bill extension letter, and the small-value bills format for bills under USD 1000. For background on how EDPMS itself works, see our EDPMS reporting guide and EDPMS under Rs 10 lakh guide .

How do I track bills and download SWIFT copies in Trade OneView?

Trade OneView is ICICI's transaction-status dashboard. ICICI's Solution for Exporters page states: "Through ICICI Bank's Trade OneView dashboard you can track status of all your transactions and generate advices and SWIFT copies". The official demo video "How to Use Trade MIS & One View Bills" shows the MIS and bill views.

In practice this covers three recurring needs: checking whether a lodged export bill has been processed, pulling the debit/credit advice for accounting, and downloading the SWIFT copy (for example, the MT103 behind an inward credit, or MT760/767 for e-BG) that a counterparty or auditor asks for. On the import side, the i-BOE module reconciles Bills of Entry via portal, Excel, or API upload, and outward remittances carry instant debit advice and SWIFT copy download.

Which trade tasks work in Trade Online and which still need the branch?

This is the honest core of the guide. The verdicts below come only from ICICI's official pages, FAQs and demo videos (all as read August 2026). "Portal" means the bank itself documents a self-serve flow. Where the evidence is absent or ambiguous, the only safe answer is to confirm with your relationship manager. We do not soften that into a "probably".

What should be on my ICICI Trade Online activation and EDPMS closure checklist?

Activation (one-time)

 • Corporate Internet Banking active, with Corporate ID and User IDs for everyone who will use the Trade tab
 • Trade Online registration form downloaded from the Customer Request Letters page and filled
 • Board Resolution (companies) or Partnership Mandate (firms) passed, covering the users and modules you need
 • Submitted via your relationship manager; Trade tab activation confirmed by logging in
 • InstaBIZ installed if you want mobile settlement of inward remittances as a backup channel
 • Ask the RM to confirm in writing the channels for forward contracts, export LC advising and BIRC requests. The three areas official pages leave open

Recurring EDPMS closure cycle

 • Settle every inward credit promptly with a disposal instruction (correct RBI purpose code and FEMA declaration). A purpose-code change later costs Rs 2500 per remittance
 • Match realised IRMs to open shipping bills and regularise via eDocs in CIB; keep small-value bills (≤ 000) flagged for the Rs 100 rate
 • Track open bills in Trade OneView monthly; export proceeds must be realised within nine months of the date of export, so raise extension requests (Rs 2000 each) before, not after, the deadline
 • For CSB-V courier exports, confirm with the branch which closure documents they require and keep the paper set ready
 • After bank-side closure, self-certify the eBRC on the DGFT portal from the pushed IRMs; raise IRM discrepancies with the bank
 • Request BIRCs for export proceeds from the bank when a scheme or auditor requires the certificate; store advices and SWIFT copies from Trade OneView alongside
