How Do I Use Federal Bank's Trade Channels for Exports. FedOne, FIRC and EDPMS?

Federal Bank's corporate channel for export documents, inward remittance handling and regularisation, with its published trade charges.

Does Federal Bank have a trade portal, and where is the trade module in FedOne?

Start with the structural fact, because it saves hours of hunting: Federal Bank does not publish a branded trade-finance portal comparable to the trade modules other banks advertise. What the bank does publish is FedOne , its corporate internet banking and transaction banking platform, launched in January 2025 and built on a third-party transaction-banking suite. The FedOne product page describes a dashboard, real-time reporting (PDF, CSV and MT940), customisable authorisation matrices with maker-checker, batch approvals, status enquiry, ERP integration, bulk CBDT payments, and AES-256 encryption with two-factor authentication. It does not list a trade-finance module.

The one official Federal Bank statement that any trade action can be submitted online sits on the older Corporate FedNet page, which says the channel provides a utility for submitting requests for opening LC and BG, alongside cheque book, demand draft and term deposit requests. Whether Corporate FedNet has been fully absorbed into FedOne is not stated on any official page. The bank's Corporate Internet Banking terms also name Trade Finance among the facilities an authorised user may avail through the channel. Without describing a single trade workflow.

How do I register for FedOne corporate net banking, and what mandate or board resolution is needed?

FedOne onboarding is offline . Per the FedOne page, you submit the FedOne Application Form cum Terms and Conditions together with the constitution document that authorises your users, routed through your branch or relationship manager. Which constitution document depends on your entity: an entity mandate for HUFs, partnerships and clubs or associations, or a Board Resolution for companies, trusts, societies and LLPs.

Onboarding path

  1. 1 Hold the current account and the export facility FedOne rides on your existing corporate relationship. The trade side of the relationship (export bill handling, packing credit, EEFC) is set up with the branch, not in the channel.
  2. 2 Fill the FedOne Application Form cum Terms and Conditions Published as an editable PDF on the FedOne page. It names the entity, the accounts and the users to be enabled.
  3. 3 Attach the Board Resolution or entity mandate Companies, trusts, societies and LLPs submit a Board Resolution; HUFs, partnerships and clubs or associations submit the corresponding mandate published alongside the application form.
  4. 4 Set the authorisation matrix, then test a live approval FedOne's documented strength is customisable authorisation matrices with maker-checker and batch approvals. Decide who makes and who checks before go-live, and push one real payment through the chain to prove the matrix is what you asked for.

How do I lodge export documents and bills with Federal Bank?

By signed request letter to the branch or the GTBS desk. No official Federal Bank page claims online export-bill lodgement. The bank's own instrument is the Application for Export Bill Purchase / Discount , a PDF in the forms and stationery repository, submitted with the document set. The charge schedule treats export bills purchased, discounted, negotiated or sent for collection as branch-processed items, priced per bill.

The practical consequence for an e-commerce exporter with many small shipments: there is no documented bulk-upload path at Federal Bank. Batch your bills into one covering letter per submission, keep the schedule of shipping bills attached to it, and make the branch acknowledge receipt. That acknowledgement is the only proof you will have of the lodgement date. For what belongs in the set itself, see our export documentation checklist .

How do I get a FIRC or FIRA from Federal Bank, and which one does an exporter actually receive?

This is the most-searched Federal Bank trade question and the one where the honest answer is uncomfortable: no Federal Bank page documents a self-service FIRA or e-FIRC download inside FedOne or Corporate FedNet. The only official evidence that the document exists at all is a priced line in the trade and forex charge schedule. FIRC Issuance (FDI/ECB/Others) at Rs.500 per FIRC, plus a general certificate-issuance line. A price implies a request-based, bank-executed issuance, not a portal download. We are not going to soften that into a "probably available in netbanking".

The terminology matters too, and Federal Bank's own charge line reflects the industry convention: since 2016 the FIRC has been reserved for FDI, FII and ECB type capital inflows. Exporters receiving payment for goods get an inward remittance advice (the FIRA) not a FIRC. If your GST refund officer or scheme application asks for "the FIRC", what you can actually obtain against an export receipt is the advice or a certificate issued at your specific request.

DocumentWhat it coversRoute at Federal Bank
FIRCCapital-account inflows. The bank's own charge line reads "FIRC Issuance (FDI/ECB/Others)"Chargeable request to the bank; no documented self-serve download. Confirm the request format with your relationship manager
FIRA / inward remittance adviceExport proceeds. The advice for a specific credit, what exporters normally attach to a GST refundNot documented as a portal download on any Federal Bank page. Request from the branch or GTBS desk
Trade certificates and attestationsCertificates issued in respect of trade transactions, true-copy certification of invoices, BRC or LC copiesPriced per certificate in the schedule; raised as a written request
eBRCRealisation certificate for DGFT schemes. Self-certified by the exporter from bank-pushed inward remittance messagesGenerate on the DGFT portal; see our eBRC filing guide

Note also that Federal Bank prices an e-BRC issuance line in the same schedule. Under the current DGFT regime the exporter self-certifies the eBRC on the DGFT portal from the inward remittance messages the AD bank has reported, so treat that line as bank-side support around the realisation record rather than as the certificate itself. How the two documents relate is covered in our FIRC vs BRC guide , and how certificates differ across payment providers in our FIRA-by-provider comparison .

How do I dispose an inward remittance and declare the purpose code at Federal Bank?

With the bank's own PDF: Disposal Instruction for Foreign Inward Remittance , published in the forms and stationery repository, signed and submitted to the branch forex desk with the RBI purpose code and the FEMA declaration, supported by the export invoice. No official Federal Bank page describes settling an inward remittance or declaring a purpose code inside FedOne or Corporate FedNet, so build your process around the form rather than around a screen you hope exists.

A Kochi-based goods exporter's buyer wires USD 9,400 against two shipping bills. The credit lands in Federal Bank's nostro and the branch intimates the exporter that a foreign inward remittance is pending disposal. The instrument the bank publishes for this is the PDF

Disposal Instruction for Foreign Inward Remittance

, which carries the purpose code and the FEMA declaration. </> } result= >

  1. Download the Disposal Instruction for Foreign Inward Remittance from Federal Bank's forms and stationery page. Do not improvise a letter when the bank publishes the format.
  2. Fill the credit reference, the amount (USD 9,400), the settlement account (current account or EEFC), the RBI purpose code applicable to goods exports, and the FEMA declaration.
  3. Attach the export invoice and the shipping bill references covered by the receipt. This is what lets the branch tie the credit to the right EDPMS entries rather than parking it as unidentified.
  4. Submit signed to the branch forex desk, and ask at the same time for the inward remittance advice for this credit; the certificate request is a separate, chargeable action if you come back for it later.
  5. Record the bank reference against both shipping bills in your own tracker, so that a part-realisation is visible before the bill goes overdue.

How do I regularise EDPMS shipping bills and extend export bills with Federal Bank?

In writing, through the branch or the GTBS desk. Federal Bank publishes no EDPMS or IDPMS closure request-letter template in its public forms repository, and no official page describes an online regularisation workflow. What the bank does publish is the price of the EDPMS actions it performs on your instruction: extension of export bills in the system or EDPMS, write-off and invoice reduction updated in EDPMS, and lodging an AD transfer request under EDPMS. Each is a chargeable, bank-executed action. Which tells you the request has to reach a human at the bank.

Because no format is published, ask your relationship manager for the bank's current EDPMS closure request format before your first closure batch, and reuse it. Our EDPMS reporting guide covers how the system works, and the EDPMS under Rs 10 lakh guide the self-write-off route for small bills. If a bill is already overdue, our realisation-pending letter template gives you a starting draft to adapt to the bank's format.

Which trade tasks work online at Federal Bank and which still need the branch?

This is the honest core of the guide. Every verdict below comes only from Federal Bank's own pages, forms and charge schedule, read in August 2026. "Online request" means the bank itself documents that a request can be submitted through the channel. Not that the instrument is issued end to end. Where the bank's pages are silent or ambiguous, the entry says so and sends you to your relationship manager; we do not fill those gaps with guesses.

Flat, percentage and slab charges use different units, so read each line on its own terms rather than adding them up; other banks structure and denominate these charges differently, and the figures are not comparable across banks. Federal Bank exporter checklist: onboarding, every remittance, and the EDPMS cycle

Onboarding (one-time)

  • FedOne Application Form cum Terms and Conditions filled, with every user who needs the channel named on it
  • Board Resolution (company, trust, society, LLP) or the matching entity mandate (HUF, partnership, club or association) passed and attached
  • Authorisation matrix agreed (who makes, who checks) and proven with one live approval before you rely on it
  • Written answer from your relationship manager on what trade requests, if any, your users can raise in the channel, and whether the LC and BG request utility is available to you
  • The bank's current EDPMS closure request format obtained in advance. None is published, so get it before your first batch
  • The published request letters saved locally: export bill purchase or discount, inward remittance disposal, import bill payment, advance against imports, Form A2

Every inward remittance

  • Disposal Instruction for Foreign Inward Remittance submitted promptly, with the correct RBI purpose code and the FEMA declaration. A later change request is a separate charge
  • Export invoice and shipping bill references attached so the branch can tie the credit to the right EDPMS entries
  • Inward remittance advice requested at the same time, not months later when a GST refund is already filed
  • Bank reference recorded against every shipping bill the credit covers, including part-realisations

Recurring EDPMS cycle

  • Documents to the branch within 21 days of shipment. Late submission carries its own monthly penal charge
  • Every shipping bill tracked against nine months from the date of export (all exporters, including SEZ, EOU and Status Holders); fifteen months applies only to goods exported to a warehouse outside India
  • Extension requests raised before a bill tips overdue, so you pay the extension line rather than the recurring follow-up line
  • Direct-despatch shipments regularised on the bank's named per-shipping-bill service rather than left open
  • eBRC self-certified on the DGFT portal once the remittance is reported; discrepancies raised back with the branch
  • Charge schedule re-checked on the live site each year. The version you budgeted against may already be superseded
