How Do I Use SBI eTrade Inside yono Business for Exports and Trade Finance?
SBI's trade module mapped. ETrade vs eForex vs YONO Business, registration and board resolution, export document lodgment, and what still needs a branch.

What is SBI eTrade and how do yono Business, eTrade and eForex fit together?
yono Business is SBI's umbrella corporate platform: a single URL and a single user ID covering five applications. Corporate Internet Banking (CINB), eTrade, eForex, Cash Management Product (CMP) and Supply Chain Finance (SCF), per SBI's official Technology Offering page . ETrade is the trade-finance module inside that platform; eForex is a separate module for FX rate booking and forward contracts. If you are looking for "the SBI trade portal", you are looking for eTrade. Reached through yono Business.
| Name | What it is | Where |
|---|---|---|
| yono Business | The umbrella corporate platform: one URL, one user ID across CINB, eTrade, eForex, CMP and SCF. Mirrored by the yono Business mobile app. | yonobusiness.sbi.bank.in |
| CINB | Corporate Internet Banking. Accounts, payments, admin. Your CINB administrator is the person who can subscribe the company to eTrade and eForex. | Inside yono Business |
| eTrade | The trade-finance module: import LC applications, export LC advising dashboard, trade transactions. Formerly branded e-Trade / eTradeSBI; the legacy login page still titles itself "SBI Trade Finance - customer Enterprise 5.7". | Inside yono Business (legacy: etrade.sbi.bank.in) |
| eForex | The FX module: live rates, online rate booking, limit and stop-loss orders, forward contract lifecycle. A separate subscription from eTrade. | Inside yono Business |
| Legacy eTrade login | Standalone login that still works for older users. Its own page states users created after 07 May 2026 must access eTrade through yono Business with their existing eTrade credentials. | etrade.sbi.bank.in |
How do I activate eTrade from CINB (Omnibus Document, board resolution, indemnity bond)?
If your company already uses CINB, you do not start from scratch. SBI's yono Business user manual 3.3. Post Login Additional Subscription documents how an existing CINB administrator subscribes to eTrade (and eForex) after logging in. The online step is only half the journey: the signed paperwork still goes to the branch.
A private limited exporter holds a current account at an SBI trade-designated branch and already transacts on CINB through yono Business. The finance head (a CINB administrator) wants eTrade access to receive export LC advices online. The journey below follows SBI's yono Business user manual 3.3 (Post Login Additional Subscription). </> } result= >
- The CINB administrator logs in at yonobusiness.sbi.bank.in and opens the additional-subscription journey to add eTrade to the existing corporate profile (manual 3.3).
- The application captures the eTrade regulator/administrator users for the company. The same structure shown in SBI's CINB / yono Business registration help pages.
- The manual lists the documents that must then be physically submitted, signed, to the branch: the Omnibus Document , a Board Resolution , the Agreement cum Indemnity Bond for eTrade , and KYC documents .
- The branch scans the signed documents and approves the subscription; activation follows branch approval, not the online submission.
If your company is not yet on CINB at all, the pre-login onboarding page for CINB, e-Trade and e-Forex is at corp.sbi.bank.in , with field-by-field help at the ybbihelp pages. The board resolution should authorise both the platform subscription and the named administrator users; your branch will insist the resolution wording matches the names captured online.
How do I apply for an import LC and receive export LC advices online in eTrade?
These are SBI's two strongest documented trade journeys, and both live in eTrade. On the import side, SBI's official yono Business page describes the Import LC (IMLC) application as fully digital. "no need to visit the branch", with stamping waived and real-time status. On the export side, the What's New release notes document an export LC advising dashboard: LCs advised to you and their amendments, MT700 download, and amendment accept/reject.
| Journey | What SBI documents | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Import LC application | Fully digital in eTrade: no branch visit, stamping waived, real-time application status | Technology Offering. Yono Business page |
| Export LC advising | Dashboard of LCs advised and amendments; MT700 download; accept or reject amendments online | yono Business What's New release notes |
| Import LC bills | View, download, accept and reject import LC bills in eTrade | yono Business What's New release notes |
| Export bill lodgement | Not documented on any official SBI page found. Confirm with your relationship manager | Research as read 15 Aug 2026 |
Note the asymmetry: for an exporter, the documented eTrade value today is on the receiving side of LCs. Seeing what has been advised to you, pulling the MT700, and responding to amendments. Lodging your export documents against that LC is not a journey SBI documents online; treat it as a branch/trade desk process until your RM confirms otherwise. For LC fundamentals, see our letter of credit guide .
How do I book, roll over or cancel a forward contract in eForex?
Forward contracts at SBI live in eForex , not eTrade. A distinction that trips up many users hunting for hedging menus inside the trade module. SBI's official pages document online rate booking with live rates and limit and stop-loss orders, and the What's New release notes document the full forward lifecycle on the Forex Dashboard: roll-over, full or partial cancellation, order placement and swap points.
Among the six bank portals we researched for this series, SBI eForex is the only one with an officially documented end-to-end forward lifecycle (book, roll over, cancel). On other portals, cancellation in particular is undocumented and routes through dealing desks.
On charges, SBI's forex schedule (effective 01.05.2025) prices forward contracts at "Rs.500/- plus swap cost and cancellation charges, wherever applicable". For booking sales and purchase contracts and each request for early delivery, extension or cancellation (not applicable for normal delivery of forward contracts).
How do I get a FIRC or FIRA from SBI?
This is the highest-searched SBI trade question, and the honest answer is uncomfortable: no SBI page documents a self-service FIRA or e-FIRC download inside yono Business or eTrade (research as read 15 August 2026). SBI's own foreign inward remittance page describes the process generally without any portal download journey. Third-party guides describe a request-form-to-branch process. Until SBI documents otherwise, treat FIRA/e-FIRC retrieval as a trade-branch request.
What SBI does publish is the price. In the forex service charges schedule effective 01.05.2025, charges related to e-BRC, e-FIRC, GR waiver certificates and other export/import certificates are Nil for Export Credit Customers ; for non-export-credit customers, e-BRC: Nil , e-FIRC Charges: Rs. 200/- for usage, no charges for issuance , and other certificates / attestations: Rs. 1,000/- (same charges for duplicate). The full charges table is in section 6.
On eBRC: since the 2023-24 DGFT revamp, the eBRC is self-certified by the exporter on the DGFT portal. The bank's role is limited to reporting realisation into EDPMS. Nothing on sbi.bank.in ties eBRC to eTrade. The process is the same for every bank, and our eBRC filing guide covers it end to end. For the FIRC-vs-FIRA distinction itself, see FIRC vs BRC and the FIRA download guide .
How do inward remittance disposal and EDPMS regularisation work with SBI?
When an export payment lands, the bank needs your disposal instruction. Which account to credit, at what rate, and the purpose code to report. For SBI, no official page shows online disposal or purpose-code declaration in yono Business or eTrade (research as read 15 August 2026). The practical route is the branch or an email to your trade branch. Confirm the exact process with your relationship manager.
The same applies to EDPMS regularisation: no official SBI page describes submitting request letters or regularisation documents for EDPMS/IDPMS items through eTrade or yono Business. (By contrast, ICICI documents a digital shipping-bill regularisation journey. See our ICICI Trade Online guide .) Assume branch or trade-desk email, and confirm with your RM.
What do SBI's export and forex charges look like?
The rows below are transcribed verbatim from SBI's Foreign Exchange Transaction Related Service Charges notice. as published, effective 01.05.2025 (revised charges column, plus GST as applicable). SBI splits most charges between Export Credit Customers (companies with a sanctioned export credit limit, who pay an upfront limit-linked charge instead) and Non-Export Credit Customers, who pay per transaction. Units differ line to line (per shipping bill, per remittance, per quarter, percentage with min/max). Read each row with its unit; the figures are not comparable across rows or across banks without them.
| Charge (as printed) | Export Credit Customers | Non-Export Credit Customers |
|---|---|---|
| Advising charges for LC & LC amendments / transfer of letter of credit | Nil | Customers: Rs. 1,500/-; Non-Customers (banking with other banks): Rs. 2,000/- |
| Export bill. Negotiation / discount / collection to discount / purchase / reimbursement charges | Nil | Rs. 1,000/- (in addition to interest as applicable) |
| Export bills collection / handling charges (dispatch and non-dispatch cases) | Rs. 500/- (flat) per shipping bill | 0.12% of the bill amount, Min. Rs. 500/- Max. Rs. 20,000/- per shipping bill |
| Handling of Softex forms / e-commerce bills / small value exports (transaction value upto USD 10,000) | Nil | Rs. 200/- per bill/form/transaction; Rs. 50/- per bill/form/transaction if received in bulk, containing more than 10 bills/forms/transactions |
| Remittances related to exports (including advance payment), charged at the time of processing remittance | Nil | Rs. 500/- per remittance |
| Late submission of shipping bill (timeline specified by RBI i.e., 21 days) | Rs. 500/- per shipping bill | |
| Charges related to e-BRC / e-FIRC / GR waiver certificate / delivery order / bank release order or other certificates / attestations | Nil | e-BRC: Nil; e-FIRC charges: Rs. 200/- for usage, no charges for issuance; other certificates / attestations: Rs. 1,000/- (same charges for duplicate) |
| Late realisation of export bills (realisation after due date) | Rs. 500/- per quarter (delay period), at the time of realisation, in addition to overdue interest as applicable | |
| Export bill discrepancy / crystallization / returned unpaid / AD transfer / extension / write-off charges | Nil | Discrepancy / crystallization / returned unpaid / AD transfer: Rs. 500/-; extension / write-off: Rs. 1,000/- |
| Foreign currency bill where proceeds are received in rupees through other banks (charges in lieu of exchange) | Nil | 0.10% of bill amount, minimum Rs. 500/- maximum Rs. 25,000/- |
| Forward contracts: booking sales and purchase contracts and each request for early delivery, extension or cancellation | Rs. 500/- plus swap cost and cancellation charges, wherever applicable (not applicable for normal delivery of forward contracts) | |
| SWIFT charges | Rs. 500/- per outward SWIFT message (not applicable for P-Segment customers); no charges for incoming SWIFT messages or messages obligatory in nature such as acknowledgement messages, tracers etc. |
Source: SBI, Revision of Forex Transaction Related Service Charges. As published, effective 01.05.2025 (plus GST as applicable). Export Credit Customers instead pay an upfront charge on the sanctioned export credit limit (0.10% p.a. Up to Rs. 50 crores; 0.06% p.a. On the amount exceeding Rs. 50 crores, at sanction/renewal), which is why most of their per-transaction rows read Nil.
Which trade tasks work in eTrade or eForex and which still need the trade branch?
This table is the honest core of this guide. It reflects only what SBI officially documents (portal research as read 15 August 2026): PORTAL means a documented self-service journey on an SBI page; BRANCH means a documented paper process; where nothing official confirms either, the row says so and the answer is your relationship manager. SBI's documentation of export-side self-service is thin. The strongest documented journeys are import LC and export LC advising.
| Task | Verdict | What SBI documents |
|---|---|---|
| Apply for an import LC | PORTAL (eTrade) | Fully digital, no branch visit, stamping waived, real-time status |
| Receive export LC advising | PORTAL (eTrade) | Dashboard of advised LCs and amendments, MT700 download, amendment accept/reject |
| Book a forward contract | PORTAL (eForex) | Online rate booking, live rates, limit and stop-loss orders |
| Roll over / cancel a forward contract | PORTAL (eForex) | Roll-over, full/partial cancellation, orders and swap points via Forex Dashboard |
| Lodge export documents / bills | NOT DOCUMENTED | No official page describes export bill lodgement in eTrade. Confirm with your relationship manager |
| Issue a bank guarantee | NOT DOCUMENTED | No official page confirms end-to-end BG issuance in eTrade. Confirm with your relationship manager |
| Inward remittance disposal / purpose code declaration | NOT DOCUMENTED | No online disposal journey documented; likely branch or trade-branch email. Confirm with your RM |
| Download FIRA / e-FIRC | NOT DOCUMENTED | No self-service download documented anywhere on SBI domains. Treat as a branch request |
| EDPMS / IDPMS regularisation | NOT DOCUMENTED | No portal submission journey documented; assume branch / trade-desk email. Confirm with your RM |
| Track shipping bill / bill status | NOT DOCUMENTED | Real-time status is advertised for eTrade applications and import LC bills, but export shipping-bill / EDPMS status tracking is not confirmed. Ask your RM |
| Import payment against a Bill of Entry (non-LC) | NOT DOCUMENTED | Import LC bills can be viewed/accepted/rejected in eTrade; direct import remittance against a BOE is not documented. Confirm with your RM |
SBI's Technology Offering page and the yono Business What's New notes. Both document these journeys in eTrade. </>), soThat: (<> If yes, eTrade is the answer: import LC application is fully digital, and export LC advising (dashboard, MT700, amendment accept/reject) is in-portal. If not, keep going. </>), }, , , , ]} conclusion= />
What should be on my SBI eTrade subscription and branch-document checklist?
Before you subscribe
- Confirm your current account sits at a trade-designated SBI branch and that your company is live on CINB with a named administrator
- Decide up front whether you need eForex as well as eTrade, so one board resolution cycle covers both subscriptions
- Draft the Board Resolution to match the administrator and user names you will capture online
- Prepare the branch pack from the 3.3 manual: Omnibus Document, Board Resolution, Agreement cum Indemnity Bond for eTrade, and KYC documents. All physically signed
- If your users were created after 07 May 2026, plan on the yono Business login path only. Not the legacy etrade.sbi.bank.in login
Once you are live
- Confirm with your RM, in writing, the routes for export bill lodgement, remittance disposal, FIRA requests and EDPMS regularisation. None is documented as a portal journey
- Set a standing process for FIRA/e-FIRC requests to the trade branch for every settlement that needs one (budget branch turnaround time)
- Track every shipping bill against the nine-month FEMA realisation window. Late realisation costs Rs. 500/- per quarter (delay period) plus overdue interest, per the 01.05.2025 schedule
- Submit shipping bill documents within the RBI 21-day timeline. Late submission is Rs. 500/- per shipping bill
- If you carry export credit limits, verify you are classified as an Export Credit Customer. Most per-transaction export charges become Nil under the upfront limit-linked charge
- Re-check the yono Business What's New page periodically. The trade journeys are being revamped and export-side self-service may land there first
